"Keys to keeping kids in music"

Encouraging children to stick with their lessons will
help them in other areas of learning, experts say

Eby Roxanne Washington
Plain Dealer Reporter

Excerpt from an article dated November 1, 2002:

"Catherine Huser is director of Kindermusik of Cleveland. Huser has 10 Kindermusik teachers working at various sites."

"I have a lot of orchestra members who bring their kids to my classes, so they know the importance of getting kids started early," she said. "Ages 5 to 7 really set the stage for formal music lessons. It's then that they begin to learn to read notes and become familiar with different instrument categories such as woodwind, percussion, and strings."
